I bought this book so I could study on my own. The preview (and the book itself) showed that at the end of each unit you could go to the website for self assessment questions. The website exists. The questions do not. There are no self assessment questions anywhere so it's impossible to study on one's own and then check what you've learned. I'm really disappointed.

I pre-ordered this book before its release as I had heard alot of good things about this book and it didn't dissapoint!I am currently studying a degree in Zoo Management and my only wish is that I could have had this book from term start in September. I use it frequently, not only for referncing assignments but also for my own study!I would definetly recommend this book!

This book is very useful in all aspects of zoo animal care. I have used it for numerous assignments for my Bsc hons degree in animal science. Excellently written for easy and informative understanding! I would highly recommend this book to other people studying a similar subject.

This is a great book if you are studying in animal care or working in a zoo environment, it covers a wide range of subjects. The enrichments section is excellent well worth the money considering how much some of the other animal care books are. Great information to help with assignment work on animal courses also. I cant fault it in any way.

Incredible text book, easy to read, really interesting. Its essentially a degree level textbook w. Ref to zoos. Good starting point and contains a large reference bank, was written in 2013, so there are some really recent references too. Whole chapter on animal ethics - something that was bearly touched at my bachelors level, and is really relevant for my masters. Would really reccommend this book.

Perfect for my degree, covers 4 units this year and have used multiple times, yes a little pricey, but you get what you pay for, seeing as this is the second edition Hosey, Melfi and Pankhurst has brought out, I love their work and all their journal articles, must reads for anyone studying animal management and behaviour. Definitely would recommend to any student studying animal management :D

This book is designed for any student doing animal or such things. Its a brillainT book, its very imformative but not overally complicasted. This makes it and ideal resource for any level. Im taking it to university and i've used it through my college assignments and it hasn't let me down to this very day. As I said a very helpful source of genuine information.

I recently purchased this book as part of a study on animal behaviour and it has not disappointed. The content is well researched with a large number of references to further material; I found the further reading sections at the end of each chapter to be most useful. It is easy to read with each chapter devided into short sections and it is well indexed. The book covers a vast majority of the factors that one needs to consider when studying captive animal management/research. Although there are some sections where further detail would have been appreciated (particularly additional information on aquariums) this book is excellent if you are looking to understand zoo animal management or are doing a course where such understanding is necessary.
